The John Hall Venice Course of 2022 got off to a great start. Our group took their seats in our National Gallery lecture theatre for an introduction by myself, followed by two brilliant talks on art and art history, from Ben Street, who always likes to put a cat amongst the pigeons by asking us to question our preconceptions about art history itself, followed by the wonderful Prof. David Ekserdjian (who is about to launch the new Raphael exhibition at the NG) with a talk about how to look at art.
The first day!
