The day started at Rialto Market, where Marika met the group to explain where the best places to source ingredients are to be found. Since 'my' day the market has shrunk significantly, along with the population of the city, but there's still plenty of lagoon-caught and lagoon-grown produce to be had.
In the evening they set about preparing the meals, making gnocchi, chopping tomatoes, peeling prawns, cleaning the vongole, and then finally, sitting down with a glass of local wine to celebrate yet another super day.
