Sunshine, cold, walkabouts, gondola rides
As we acclimatise this year's group to Venice we go on a couple of walks through the city just to orientate everyone; to the Rialto Market, into one of the most inaccessible churches to see one of my great great grandfather's favourite paintings that channelled his love of Venetian blue (The Key of Blue, by John Addington Symonds), Tiepolo's First Communion of St Lucy
Last night we also visited the Basilica of San Marco for our stunning private visit and were serenaded by the superb Patrick Craig as the lights slowly came on.
