Leaving Venice and Saying 'ciao' to Florence and the JHV2020 group

After five amazing weeks it was time to say arrivederci to lovely Venice, where we had made ourselves a home for the past five weeks. On to the vaporetto for a last trip to the coach and off to Florence where we met up with some of the 2020 group, whose trip last year had been so cruelly curtailed on that day in March.

The sun was out and we went on a really packed day to The Bargello Museum to see Michelangelo's amazing 'Bacchus', Donatello's 'St George' and 'David' amongst other works, then to the Museo del Opera dell'Duomo, the Baptistery and then finally the Rucellai chapel and Santa Trinita.

It was fantastic to see the group from last year, to eat at the brilliant La Spada restaurant and to have a change of scene.!...plus the obligatory shot of Ricotta and Pear gelato from the Carraia gelateria!
