So great to be in Rome! With an extra day sneaked into the itinerary we were able to spend a day in Trastevere, from the Fontanone to Santa Maria in Trastevere, and our time rattled by

I can hardly believe myself when we get to the Sistine Chapel and we have it all to ourselves - a sneaky lie-down on the floor to admire Michelangelo's sensational ceiling, and powerful, moody Last Judgement

and then Tivoli! Our final day, bathed in spring sunshine, our walk around the Villa D'Este and then the last lunch at the Ristorante Sibilla....

then farewells, and luggage at Heathrow
